A few of my first transactions in Duckjeong

I had to question why the tissue was so expensive...maybe because it is scented, lol? Who knows...then I went to E-mart which is equivilent to our Walmart. The bill came to 80,000 won!!! Awww, whoever said Korea is inexpensive that has changed. In the midst of the U.S. economy being in a rut has caused hard times in other places for people too. So if anyone has request for me to send them something from Korea---U.S. money must come with the request. No if, ands or buts about it!

My Space

Here's my place! I am truly blessed once again to have this opportunity. When I arrived, it was sooooo late at night I really did not pay attention to anything besides the shower and bed. The following morning I woke up to an equisite living space. I have a nice size room, large dining and living room space and a veranda that over looks mountains. The only thing that I really have to work on is the 4 flights of stairs I have to climb to get to my place:) I can look at it on the brighter side and say at least I will have nice calves by the time this experience is over!

Adventure Korea

Hmmm...leaving the U.S. during the holiday was difficult. As my family prepared for Christmas, I was packing my bags to began an adventure to teach English in Korea. I left on December 23. I arrived to Yangju City (Duckjeong) on December 24. The director of ICLS graciously picked me up during her break. I was so thankful I was being picked up by someone that I had become familiar with via phone.
Was I nervous? No, not the least. I was ready for this experience. Ready, as far as wanting to go outside of the country again and embrace the change of being out of my comfort zone. Here I am at the airport in San Francisco, the last city before I left the U.S. I sat a while and wondered what my apartment in South Korea would look like, what my co-workers would be like and of course what kind of students would I have to make an impression and lives I would change....
